Together we make a positive impact on our environment, economy and communities

WORKING TOGETHER FOR PEOPLE AND PLANET

It has never been more important to prevent surplus food, clothing and supplies from going to waste, both from an environmental perspective and in order to support the increasing number of people who are suffering financial hardship due to the increased cost of living.

SURPLUS FOOD IS NOT FOOD WASTE

About a third of all food produced for human consumption is wasted each year. This not only means a missed opportunity for the economy and food security, but also a waste of all the natural resources used for growing, processing, packaging, transporting and marketing food.

His Church work in close partnership with retailers, manufacturers and other charitable organisations, to ensure that surplus food, which is an essential and incredibly valuable resource, does not become food waste and is redistributed to benefit our people and planet.

His Church’s pioneering redistribution solutions have been funded by DEFRA

Shockingly, if food waste were a country it would be the third highest emitter of Greenhouse Gases in the world making it a major contributor to climate change.
