Our heritage

Our heritage.

”And He said, “How shall we picture the kingdom of God, or what parable shall we use to illustrate and explain it?  It is like a mustard seed, which, when it is sown on the ground, even though it is smaller than all the [other] seeds that are [sown] on the soil, yet when it is sown, it grows up and becomes larger than all the garden herbs; and it puts out large branches, so that the birds of the sky are able to make nests and live under its shade.” Mark 4:30-32

Here is the remarkable story of His Church’s faith journey so far….

In the beginning…..

Who then is the faithful, thoughtful, and wise servant, whom his master has put in charge of his household to give to the others the food and supplies at the proper time? Matthew 24:45

Our faith compels us to provide practical support for people experiencing times of hardship and difficultly, irrespective of race or religion, especially those who are struggling to feed and clothe themselves / their families.

Obviously, in all things, we must receive before we can give and the first ever donation we received as a charity was an £8 voucher from Morrisons in Milton Keynes. One member of the Church asked our President, shall we bother with such a small amount? The response an unequivocal “YES..and thank God on the way for His provision! Do not despise the day of small things and remember that “He who is faithful in a very little thing is also faithful in much” (Luke 16:10)!)

At the exact time, we arrived at Morrisons to collect the voucher (with thanksgiving!) staff had been instructed to dispose of a line of Heinz soup discontinued due to the introduction of a new label. The product was perfect but because the label was now obsolete it couldn’t be sold, therefore, it was offered to His Church along with the voucher.

We were delighted the Lord had brought an increase to us, but also recognised He was showing us something significant, in that, we were being set up and established as a solutions provider. Our stewardship in collecting, storing and redistributing the Heinz product meant an issue with surplus stock for Morrisons would become essential provision for people facing food insecurity.

To this day our ethos is that one person’s problem is another’s solution.

According to your faith

“Let it be done to you according to your faith” Matthew 9:29b

The Lord called the Founder of His Church and Charity President to assist Him feed His people and said “I will provide according to your faith”. Therefore, by faith, our Charity President began to look for a property with storage facility from which we could store and distribute in greater volume.

At this time we were beginning to establish ourselves as a charitable redistributor and had began partnerships with a number of major food manufacturers including Baxters.

Having delivered 2 pallets to us in November 2004, Baxters had been impressed with our feedback on the distributions of those pallets and offered a full articulated lorry of soups, condiments, and sauces, if we could collect them, in March 2005.

DawsonGroup Truck and Trailer in Milton Keynes were kind enough to lend us a tractor unit and we purchased a second-hand trailer to make the collection. However, although by this time we had identified a property with buildings suitable for storage and distribution, we hadn’t officially completed on that property and there was a deadline on us collecting the pallets from Baxters.

To meet the deadline, our Charity President set off from Bedfordshire to Fochabers (56 miles Northwest of Aberdeen) to collect the food by faith believing we would complete on the property by the time he had completed his three day round trip! Had we not completed then there would have been nowhere to put a lorry load of food! However, by the grace of God, we completed 1 hour before our lorries estimated time of arrival and we were able to unload the pallets into the buildings of our new property that night.

In September 2005, the Lord sent His word to us through a revelation of Jesus Christ through the life of Joseph and an instruction to store food in fortified storage.

In response our President bought 40 x 20 ft shipping containers by faith, which he collected from Felixstowe and positioned in the garden of the property which we had by then transformed into a yard. The containers were cleaned, painted, set in place and dedicated to the Lord’s service by November 2005.

During the month of December 2005, a single consignment of “Atkins Advantage” health foods including breakfasts, milkshakes, cereal bars, chocolate bars and vitamins (to supplement the “Atkins Diet”) was delivered to His Church by NYK Logistics.

Atkins Advantage had gone into receivership and product had to be moved from NYK’s warehouse to make room for new stock. If no recipient had been found this product would have been sent to landfill.

The consignment totalled just over a thousand pallets and equated to 32 articulated lorry deliveries, incredibly this consignment having been unloaded and handballed by His Church exactly filled the 40 shipping containers that had been purchased and positioned by faith!

His Food was born!

Faithful with another man’s property

“If you have not been faithful with someone else’s property, who will give you your own?” Luke 16:12

During 2006, we continued to expand providing solutions for not only food but also for clothes, as the distribution of both are central to our faith... “What good is it to say keep yourself warm and well fed without giving the necessities for the body” (James 2:16)

An inspired solution for the redistribution of counterfeit clothing by de-branding and re-branding the garments with our HIS logo meant we quickly became the go to solution for 90% of Trading Standards Organisations in the UK. This resulted in His Church being entrusted with millions of pounds worth of brand-new counterfeit clothing. This huge undertaking coupled with the fact food donations were rapidly increasing as more companies heard about our solutions meant we were struggling for room with 40 shipping containers!

At this time, we were offered a very large consignment of personal hygiene products and domestic cleaning products by a major multinational consumer goods company, we did not have room to receive the consignment and were focussed on food and clothes as the main necessities for sustaining life. We enquired of the Lord and were instructed to receive the consignment that was offered!

After we had agreed by faith to collect, store and redistribute the consignment, we were offered the temporary use of a warehouse in Corby, the timing was absolutely perfect, and it enabled us to receive hundreds of pallets of incredible products ranging from laundry detergent to nappies.

We did not know why we were receiving this quantity of this type of product but were grateful to the Lord for His provision and stewarded the warehouse unto the Lord as if it was our own, believing that if we were found faithful with another man’s warehouse then God would entrust us with our own.

By the time we had collected all the personal hygiene and domestic cleaning supplies it was June 2007. In July 2007 there was widespread flooding in the South Yorkshire and Humberside areas. The Lord sent us with exactly the relief items that were needed due to the crisis, we were given use of Sheffield United’s Football Stadium as a mission base and the car park as a temporary distribution centre.

We were the first organisation on the ground giving practical support and the recipients were as much comforted by the fact there was help to be found in their hour of need as the actual help that as provided.

The Storehouse of the Lord

“See if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out so great a blessing for you until there is no more room to receive it” Malachi 3:10

The Lord spoke to our Charity President and said “I need to increase your faith and capacity to receive”. Our Charity President responded in faith by looking for a bigger warehouse, he believed that if he had been found faithful with the warehouse we had looked after belonging to another man, then God would give us our own warehouse according to our faith.

Our Charity President saw in the spirit a Tsunami of blessing it was so great he wanted to run but the Lord spoke and said you can run but my blessings will overtake you. At the same time, we received a word from Malachi that the Lord was going to open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing until there was no more room to receive it!

Our Charity President believed that God, according to his word, would fill any warehouse that he had the faith to receive and looked at the biggest building he could think of... an aircraft hangar!

In August 2007 our President walked into Hangar 3 a C-Type aircraft hangar on the former RAF Binbrook site, it was derelict and in parts under water having been used for the storage of frozen foods before the freezer was switched off and it was left in disrepair. Seeing through the eyes of faith he asked the Lord for the Hangar, according to His will and purpose.

In September 2007, His Church completed on that aircraft hangar and began the restoration process! Today 16 years later that Hanger is known as “The Lord’s Storehouse” and He has filled it to the point we do not have the room to receive all that we have been offered. His Church has distributed aid in 37 countries so far, and we have become an established “go to” organisation in times of crisis.

In 2015, Our President received the “Human order of African Redemption – Knight Great band Award from the President of Liberia for our response to the Ebola Crisis.

In 2020 our President was awarded an MBE in Her Late Majesty The Queen’s Birthday Honours for food services to the UK during the Covid Pandemic.

By His grace we continue to make His-story!
